Michael Schefts
Michael Schefts (born April 19, 1973 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor , director and writer .
After training at the Krauss drama school in Vienna , he began his career at the Theater für Vorarlberg . From 1999 to 2003 he performed regularly at the Elisabethbühne in Salzburg. From 2003 he played mainly in Vienna. Engagements in Austria, Germany and Switzerland followed.
Further engagements took him to the opera in Rome, the Scala in Milan and the Salzburg Festival. There he worked with Riccardo Muti , Peter Stein , Alvis Hermanis , Anna Netrebko and Placido Domingo .
Schefts also gives readings, including from Viennese coffee house literature and readings with a musical focus. He works as a professional speaker . In 2004 it celebrated its 50th theater premiere. In 2007 he made his directorial debut with Eugène Ionesco's The Rhinos in Theater Spielraum. In 2008 he founded the WORT_ensemble, an independent theater group in Vienna. In 2015 his first children's book “Siena and the Minotaur's Labyrinth” was published.
He lives with his family in Vienna.

Music and lyrics
From 2013 Schefts works with the Wienerklassik Orchester. The first project was a reading with music to Mozart's Magic Flute.
Since 2014 Schefts can be heard with the Wiener Klassikquintett as speaker in Peter und der Wolf by Sergei Prokofjew .
In 2016 the program SHAKE-zart & MO-speare premiered. Together with the soprano Katrin Fuchs and the pianist Elena Gertcheva, the trio is working on a homage to the greatest playwright and the greatest composer of all time.
