Micky, Donald, Goofy - The Three Musketeers (English: Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers ) is an American cartoon from the Walt Disney Company from 2004 .

The action takes place in France in the 17th century and is based on Alexandre Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers . Many residents of Duckburg appear in new roles.

action

While Micky, Donald and Goofy are still mopping the floor in the Musketeers' headquarters , they dream of nothing but becoming musketeers. But Donald lacks courage, Goofy is too stupid and Micky is too small. At the same time, the devious cat Karlo, captain of the Musketeers, hatches a malicious plan. He wants to kidnap Princess Minnie to become king himself. In this company he is supported by the tank crackers . He considers the trio Micky, Donald and Goofy to be too incompetent and chaotic to become musketeers and constantly makes fun of them.

Now, when Minnie worries about her safety, Karlo promotes Micky, Donald and Goofy to musketeers to put them down for their protection, making sure they won't interfere with him. When Minnie and her servant Daisy, protected by the trio, go on a trip, they are kidnapped by the crackers. But Micky, Donald and Goofy soon manage to save them again.

Back in Paris, Karlo first wants to get rid of the three before he takes Minnie into his power. But he fails again and finally Micky, Donald and Goofy are appointed royal musketeers. During the events, Micky and Minnie, Donald and Daisy and Goofy and Klarabella Kuh fall in love.

Conception

A bard in the form of a turtle leads through the plot and accompanies the story with songs. Finally, he also intervenes in the plot.

In this film, Micky, Donald and Goofy appear together for the first time in a longer production. In the 1930s, the trio starred in many short films. The supporting characters, like the cat Karlo, were taken over from this time.

Production and publication

The film was produced as a direct-to-DVD production by Disney Toon Studios in 2004 and directed by Donovan Cook . Buena Vista Entertainment released the film in the US on DVD and VHS . It was later broadcast on Toon Disney and Disney Channel .

reception

The film is rated by reviewers on the Internet as "a fun reunion with three heroes", but not outstanding among the Disney films and too predictable. As the first feature film appearance of the trio Micky, Donald and Goofy, the film was a success, it offers jokes and a well thought-out plot. The turtle bard as well as the music would also ensure a successful atmosphere.
