NGC 1372 is an elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E0 in the constellation Eridanus the southern sky . It is estimated to be 409 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 74,000 ly. 
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 1368 , NGC 1388 , NGC 1413  IC 1975 , among others .
The object was discovered by Francis Leavenworth on November 12, 1885 .
