NGC 4764 is a 15.1 likes bright elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E2 in the constellation of Virgo and about 182 million light-years from the Milky Way center.
Together with NGC 4761 , NGC 4776 and NGC 4778 it forms the "Hickson Compact Group 62" and was discovered in March 1882 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel .
