NGC 4780 is a 13.4 mag barred spiral galaxy in the constellation of Virgo and about 151 million light years from the Milky Way.

It was discovered in 1880 by Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel . In a comparative study (Elmegreen & Elmegreen, 1987) the structure of the spiral arms of NGC 4780 was classified as follows: two symmetrical, short arms in the inner regions, irregular outer arms.
