NGC 4791 is a spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble type S in the constellation Virgo north of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 111 million light-years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 45,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 4795 , NGC 4796 , NGC 4803 .
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on March 25, 1865 .
