NGC 7685 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 258 million light years from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.
The galaxies NGC 7679 , NGC 7682 , NGC 7687 , IC 1500 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on August 30, 1785 .
