NGC 7691 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is an estimated 188 million light years from the Milky Way and about 115,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7703 and NGC 7711 .
The type IIP supernova SN 2014az was observed here.
The object was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on October 16, 1784 .
