NGC 7715 is an irregular galaxy of Hubble type in? pec in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is about 129 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter .
Due to a close encounter with its neighboring galaxy NGC 7714 about 100 to 200 million years ago, it lost a considerable part of its mass, which led to distortions in both galaxies. Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy pair belongs to the class double galaxies with inflow and attraction .
The object was discovered on November 4, 1850 by Bindon Blood Stoney
