NGC 7731 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 135 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter. Together with NGC 7732 it forms the gravitationally bound galaxy pair Holm 813 or KPG 590 and together with three other galaxies the NGC 7757 group ( LGG 482 ).
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on October 27, 1864 .
