NGC 7713 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBcd and is located in the constellation Sculptor in the southern sky . It is an estimated 31 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
The Type II supernova SN 1982L was observed here.
The object was discovered by John Herschel on October 4, 1836 .
