Natalja Jurjewna Golz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Natalja Jurjewna Golz ( Russian Наталья Юрьевна Гольц ; born August 22, 1985 in Montschegorsk , Murmansk Rayon , Soviet Union ) is a Russian wrestler . She was European champion five times between 2003 and 2008 and won six medals at the world championships.

Career

Natalja Golz started wrestling as a teenager in 1996. The sportswoman, who was born in the Arctic Ocean, now lives in Moscow and belongs to the Dynamo Moscow sports club . So far she has been trained mainly by N. Nanajew and Omar Murtasalijew. She is a student. At a height of 1.63 meters, with a few exceptions, it has always started in the weight class up to 55 kg body weight.

In 1998, at the age of thirteen, she was already at the so-called World Youth Championship (later renamed Junior World Championship for Cadets) in Manchester , where she won the title in the weight category up to 38 kg. In the years 2000 to 2002 she won the Junior European Championship three times in a row for the Cadets age group (up to the age of 16). These championships took place in Bratislava , Izmir and Albena / Bulgaria . Natalja Golz won in the weight classes up to 46 kg, 49 kg and 52 kg body weight. She then did not win any further championship titles among the juniors, although she could have started in this age group until 2005. There was a reason for the fact that the Russian Wrestling Association had been using them regularly at the international championships for women since 2002.

Natalja Golz made her debut among women at the 2002 World Cup in Chalkida / Greece . She started in the weight class up to 51 kg and won there in the preliminary round fights a. a. about Jessica Bechtel from Germany . In the semifinals she was defeated by the Japanese Chiharu Icho , but then won a bronze medal in the World Cup with a victory over Lyndsay Belisle from Canada .

In 2003 she won the first European title in the weight class up to 55 kg in Riga . In the decisive fights she won against Christina Oertli from Germany and Sofia Poumpouridou from Greece . This title was followed by four more European championship titles by 2008. Natalja Golz won all of these in the weight class up to 55 kg in Varna (2005), Moscow (2006), Sofia (2008) and Tampere (2009). The toughest opponents she defeated were Anna Gomis , France , Ana Maria Pavăl , Romania , Maria Iwanowa , Belarus , Ludmila Cristea , Moldova , Emese Szabo , Hungary , Natalja Sinischin and Tetjana Lasarewa , both Ukraine and Johanna Mattsson , Sweden .

She was not so successful at the World Championships. At least she won a bronze medal at the 2003 World Cup in New York . She lost there against Saori Yoshida from Japan and won this bronze medal by defeating the Chinese Sun Dongmei . At the 2005 World Championships in Budapest , she again won a bronze medal. Here it was the Chinese woman, Su Lihui , who blocked her way into the final battle. Natalja Golz celebrated victories at this world championship over Anna Gomis, Gudrun Annette Høie from Norway and Minerva Monteiro Perez from Spain . At the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou , she failed again on Saori Yoshida. After victories in the consolation round over Marcia Yuleisi Andrades Mendoza from Venezuela and Anna Gomis, she then lost the fight for a bronze medal against Ida-Theres Nerell from Sweden and had to be satisfied with 5th place. Against the same wrestler she lost at the 2007 World Cup in Baku. But there she fought for a bronze medal at the World Championships with victories over Sofia Poumpouridou and Tetjana Lasarewa.

The 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing turned out to be a great disappointment for Natalja Golz . She lost there after a victory over Jelena Komarowa from Azerbaijan against Saori Yoshida and Ida-Theres Nerell and only came in 8th place. In 2008, in addition to the wrestling tournament at the Olympic Games, there was also a separate world championship. It took place in Tokyo . Natalja Golz started in the weight class up to 59 kg and won the runner-up world title there. She lost the final battle against Ayako Shōda from Japan.

In 2009 she was only part of the World Championships in Herning / Denmark . She lost there, having returned to the weight class up to 55 kg, against Anna Gomis, whom she had previously defeated in countless encounters, was eliminated and only came in 19th place. Her last start at an international championship in which she participated was at the 2010 European Championship in Baku . She almost managed to become the sixth European champion there. But she lost there in the final fight against Anastasija Grigorjeva from Latvia just by points (1: 2 rounds, 6: 8) points and was "only" vice-European champion.

After this championship, Natalja Golz devoted herself more to her diploma thesis and therefore did not take part in any international championships. In 2012, however, she made a comeback and took 2nd place in the Russian championship in the non-Olympic weight class up to 59. In the final she was defeated by Jekaterina Melnikow . Her start at the Golden Grand Prix in Klippan was less successful , where she only finished 8th. In 2013 and 2014 she is not to be found in the list of winners at the Russian championships. In June 2014, however, she was used by the Russian Wrestling Association at the German Grand Prix in Dormagen in the weight class up to 58 kg, in which she took 3rd place behind Emese Barka from Hungary and Ausuluut A Tinibekowa from Kyrgyzstan.
