The Obere Lahntal is a natural area in the extreme north of the Gladenbacher Bergland on the upper reaches of the Lahn between Bad Laasphe ( Siegen-Wittgenstein district , North Rhine-Westphalia ) and Lahntal - Caldern ( Marburg-Biedenkopf district , Hesse ). It also includes the Dautphe side valley, which branches off to the south .

The Obere Lahntal is the northern seam of the Gladenbacher Bergland to the foothills of the Rothaargebirge ( Wittgensteiner Bergland and bagpipe plus foreheads ).
