New Zealand took part in the 1952 Summer Olympics in the Finnish capital Helsinki with a delegation of 14 athletes, two women and twelve men, and three officials.

Since 1920 it was the seventh participation of a New Zealand team in the Summer Olympics .

Flag bearer

Weightlifter Harold Cleghorn carried the New Zealand flag during the opening ceremony in the Olympic Stadium .

Medalist

With a won gold and two bronze medals the New Zealand team finished 24th place in the medal table .
