The qualification group C games took place from November 6th to 9th, 2008 in the Hacker-Pschorr Arena in Bad Tölz .

The Slovaks caused a big surprise, who only qualified for the tournament in Germany by winning the tournament in the pre-qualification. After an opening victory over the hosts and the best-positioned Germans in the IIHF world rankings, they also won the decisive match against Kazakhstan, which means that after Germany's victory over France, the tournament victory for the outsider was already certain after the second match day. With a final victory over France, they finished the tournament flawlessly with three wins and only one goal. The Germans disappointed across the board with defeats against Slovakia and Kazakhstan and clearly missed the goal of qualifying for the Olympics as third place.

As the best scorer, Martina Veličková from Slovakia emerged from the tournament with four scorer points . She had already finished the pre-qualification tournament as the player with the best points. With three tournament goals, her teammate Jana Kapustová scored the most goals.

A total of 1,068 spectators attended the six qualifying games, which corresponds to an average of 178 per game.
