The women's 15 km individual biathlon at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on February 7, 2022 at 17:00 local time (10:00 CET ) at the Guyangshu Nordic Ski and Biathlon Centre .

Denise Herrmann from Germany became Olympic champion .

competition description

The individual competition is the oldest discipline in biathlon and is therefore considered a “classic”. The 15 km were divided into five laps of equal length, after the first four the athletes had to hit five targets in the order lying-standing-lying-standing at the shooting range. Unlike in the other disciplines, the athletes received a penalty of one minute for each missed target. The winner was whoever had the fastest total time at the finish.
