This article covers the Spanish Olympic selection during the 1980 Summer Olympics .

Olympic qualification

Spain prevailed in the 1st round together with Belgium against Israel and the Netherlands and moved into the decisive 2nd round. There you could leave Belgium and France behind, which meant qualifying for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow .

In the preliminary round, after two draws against the defending champions GDR and Syria in the last group game against the Algerians with the same number of points, they wanted to reach the quarter-finals.
