Piskorzewo [ piskɔˈʐɛvɔ ] ( German  Piskorzewen , 1904 to 1945 Königsdorf ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the Gmina Pisz ( city ​​and rural community Johannisburg ) in the powiat Piski (district of Johannisburg ).

Geographical location

Piskorzewo is located on the river Rybnica in the eastern south of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship, 14 kilometers south of the district town of Pisz ( German  Johannisburg ).

history

The small village called Wondollek before 1785, Piskorzken after 1871 and Piskorzewen until 1904 was founded in 1758 as a leasehold village . From 1874 to 1945 it was incorporated into the Kullik district (in Polish: Kulik ).

On October 12, 1904, Piskorzewen with the village of Henriettental - between 1905 and 1910 the former Wondollek estate (1938 to 1945 Wondollen , Polish Wądołek ) - was renamed "Königsdorf". 201 inhabitants were registered here in 1910, there were 287 in 1933 and 275 in 1939.

In 1945 Königsdorf was transferred to Poland in the wake of the war with the whole of southern East Prussia and was given the Polish form of name “Piskorzewo”. Today it is a place in the network of the city and rural community Pisz (Johannisburg) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then assigned to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Religions

Until 1945 Piskorzewen was parish in the Evangelical Church Gehsen ( Polish Jeże ) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Roman Catholic Church Pisz in the Diocese of Warmia .

Today Piskorzewo belongs to the Catholic parish Jeże in the Diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents stick to the parish in the district town of Pisz in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
