Kocioł Duży is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , part of the Gmina Pisz ( urban and rural municipality Johannisburg ) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).
Geographical location
Kocioł Duży is located in the eastern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, nine kilometers east of the district town of Pisz (Johannisburg) .
history
There is no evidence of the history of the village, which had a total of 249 inhabitants in 2011, not even about the time before 1945. There is indeed a name reference to the only one and a half kilometers northwest of Kocioł , whose German name "Groß Kessel" is the exact translation of the Polish name "Kocioł Duży", but a connection beyond the Polish name is speculation. There is also the possibility that the village did not emerge until after 1945.
Kocioł Duży is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and thus a locality of the urban and rural municipality Pisz (Johannisburg) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
Religions
The parish churches for both Catholic and Protestant church members are located in the district town of Pisz , which belongs to the Ełk diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland and the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
traffic
Kocioł Duży is located on the Polish national road 58 , which runs through southern Masuria to the Podlaskie Voivodeship . Coming from the south, a regional side road ends in the village, as does an overland connection from the north-west of Kocioł .
The nearest train station is Stare Guty (Gutten, Ksp. Johannisburg) and is on the Olsztyn – Ełk ( German Allenstein – Lyck ) railway line .
