Szeroki Bór Piski is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Pisz ( urban and rural municipality Johannisburg ) in the Powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).

Geographical location

Szeroki Bór Piski is located on the northeast of the Johannisburger Heide ( Puszcza Piska in Polish ) on the south bank of the Kleiner Jagodschin Lake (also: Kleiner Tiefensee , Polish Jegocin Mały, also: Jegocinek ), eight kilometers west of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).  

history

There is no evidence of the history of Szeroki Bór Piski. The affinity of the name to the village of Szeroki Bór , which is located five kilometers to the south-west but already belongs to Gmina Ruciane-Nida ( German  Rudczanny , 1938 to 1945 Niedersee-Nieden ) , whose German name is Breitenheide, is not without significance . It can be assumed that the place Szeroki Bór Piski was only created after 1945. It is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and as such a place in the network of the urban and rural municipality Pisz in the Powiat Piski , until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .
