Pogobie Średnie [ pɔˈɡɔbjɛ ˈɕrɛdɲɛ ] ( German means Pogobien , 1938–1945 Middle Pogau ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship that belongs to the Gmina Pisz ( city and rural community Johannisburg ) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ).
Geographical location
Pogobie Średnie is located on the northeast bank of the Kleiner Pogobier Lake (also: Mittelpogauer See, Polish Jezioro Pogubie Małe ) in the southeastern Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, eight kilometers south of the district town of Pisz ( German Johannisburg ).
history
Middle Pogobie was founded in 1708 as a casket settlement.
From 1874 to 1945, the village in the administrative district Wolfsbruch was ( Polish Wilcze Bagno , no longer in existence) integrated, the for loop Johannesburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen (1905: Administrative district Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. After Middle Pogobien, the village of Vorder Pogobien (1938–1945: Middle Pogau , Polish Pogubie Przednie , no longer existed) was incorporated.
In 1910, 348 inhabitants were registered in Mittel Pogobien, in 1933 there were already 480. On June 3, 1938, Mittel Pogobien was renamed “ Mittel Pogobien” for ideological and political reasons . The population was 482 in 1939.
In 1945 all of southern East Prussia was transferred to Poland as a result of the war . Middle Pogau was also affected by this. It received the Polish name form "Pogobie Średnie" and is today as the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) a place in the network of the city and rural community Pisz (Johannisburg) in the powiat Piski ( Johannisburg district ), until 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then the Voivodeship Associated with Warmia-Masuria . In 2011 Pogobie Średnie had 244 inhabitants.
Religions
Before 1945 means Pogobien resp. Central Pogau is incorporated into the Evangelical Church of Johannisburg in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The old Protestant cemetery still reminds of this time . In addition, the village was a parish in the Roman Catholic Church in Johannisburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
Today Pogobie Średnie belongs to the Catholic parish church in Wiartel ( (Groß) Wiartel ) or Pisz , now in the diocese of Ełk of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant residents orientate themselves towards the parish in Pisz, now in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
