Plužine ( Cyrillic  Плужине ) is a small town in northwestern Montenegro and has about 1500 inhabitants. The city is the center of the municipality of the same name, which covers 854 km² and has 4,300 inhabitants. It is located about 17 km south of the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina on the banks of the Piva reservoir , which is the second largest lake in the country.

At the 2011 census, the municipality of Plužine had 3246 inhabitants, of which 2131 (65.65%) described themselves as Serbs and 902 (27.79%) as Montenegrins . Other smaller population groups also live in the community.
