Bečići

Bečići ( Cyrillic Бечићи , Italian Becici ) is a town in the municipality of Budva , Montenegro . It is located 1 km southeast of Budva and has 891 inhabitants (2011 census).

The city has a 1,950 m long sandy beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Montenegro and in the southern Adriatic region. In 1935 it won the Grand Prix for the most beautiful beach in Europe in Paris. Several sections of the beach are private or only accessible to hotel guests. Budva can be reached on foot via a promenade and a 100 m tunnel, and a tourist train also runs along the route.

In contrast to Budva, where there are many private residential units, in the city of Bečići mainly medium-sized and larger hotels dominate as tourist accommodation. Some of them, like the Mediteran , the Iberostar Bellevue or the Queen of Montenegro , have been extensively renovated. The most important new building was the Hotel Splendid, built in 2005-2006, a luxurious five-star resort owned by the Montenegro Stars Hotel Group , the construction of which cost 70 million euros. I.a. it has already hosted the Rolling Stones , Madonna , Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie during their stays in Montenegro.
