The place Pupping is about 3½ kilometers north of Eferding , 1½ kilometers from the Danube , at the level of the Brandstätter See (old mouth of the Aschach ). The place is directly on the B 130  Nibelungen Straße and the Aschacher Bahn .

The village has almost 50 buildings with about 130 inhabitants. When the railway was built in 1886, a piece of the village was left to the west, and with the railway line as the municipality boundary , it remained with the municipality of Hartkirchen , to whose parish Pupping originally belonged. There is a house there (today Pupping 34) on the road to the Eferding airfield (Gstaltenhof) by the train station, it still forms a separate village of Hartkirchen.

The cadastral community of Pupping with 732.10  hectares also includes the villages of Gstaltenhof (also Hartkirchner shares) in the west, and in the east Danube downstream Au bei Brandstatt , Brandstatt , Gstöttenau (shares in Hinzenbach ), Au bei Hohe Steg , Leumühle , Waschpoint and Auhof all the way to the southeast.
