The source valleys of the Wienbeck are a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Osterholz-Scharmbeck in the Osterholz district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG LÜ 259 is 95  hectares in size. The approximately 73 hectare FFH area "Reithbruch" is largely part of the nature reserve. The area has been under nature protection since January 16, 2004. The former "Reithbruch" nature reserve, which was designated on September 8, 1949, has now merged into the reserve. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the district of Osterholz.

View to the east over the nature reserve (left in the center of the picture); right Scharmbeckstotel, left in the background Osterholz-Scharmbeck, behind it extends the Hammeniederung (mostly LSG or NSG ).

The nature reserve is located west of Osterholz-Scharmbeck between Buschhausen and Scharmbeckstotel . It includes the valleys of several Geest brooks that are suitable for Wienbeck unite. The brooks have cut deeply into the sandy subsoil formed by a ground moraine . There are some old deciduous forests in the valleys and on the valley slopes . The Wienbeck meanders relatively close to nature through the nature reserve. Its banks are lined with alders and ash trees. In the areas in which the valley slopes are flatter - this is particularly the case in the eastern part of the protected area - agricultural use of the areas takes place predominantly as grassland . The grassland areas are divided by wall and field hedges . In the western part there are reservoirs in several places that are only partially used as fish ponds . The ponds that are no longer used have developed into near-natural small bodies of water.

To the west of the nature reserve is the Reithbruch, an area with limestone moor vegetation. This area represents the former nature reserve "Reithbruch".

The nature reserve borders on the B 74 in the east and south-east .
