Röhrsdorf , with the district Löbenhain (incorporated on July 1, 1901), is a western part of the city of Chemnitz . It is bordered by the districts of Wittgensdorf , Borna-Heinersdorf , Rottluff , Rabenstein and Grüna as well as the district of Klassung of the city of Limbach-Oberfrohna and the municipality of Hartmannsdorf . The highest point is the water house ( 402  m). The "Chemnitz-Center" shopping park, which opened in 1992, is located directly on the corridor border to Borna-Heinersdorf. The formerly independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Chemnitz in 1999.

Buildings and monuments

The fairy tale fountain, consecrated on November 19, 1911, is located in front of the Röhrsdorf primary school. The sandstone water feature is around 3.5 meters high. In the middle of the fountain stands a girl cast in bronze, who is reading a book to a child. Four figures from the fairy tales The Hare and the Hedgehog , Cat and Mouse , Frog Prince and From the Death of the Chicken sit on the edge of the fountain . The fountain was a gift from the sculptor Arthur Lange to his place of birth.

In Röhrsdorf there are two Saxon post mile pillars . At the intersection of Chemnitzer Strasse and Leipziger Strasse is the reconstructed full mile pillar no. 32 from 1723. In July 2007, a replica of quarter milestone no. 31 was erected in the Löbenhain district on the edge of the former B 95 . The material of the stone is Hilbersdorf porphyry . The original of the stone was erected in 1723.

On the Röhrsdorf district in the direction of Rabenstein there is the atonement cross for the shepherd stone , also known only as shepherd stone or shepherd's cross. A shepherd from Rabenstein is said to have been slain by farmers from Röhrsdorf because he let his sheep graze on their meadows.
