route

The rally started in Lima in Peru and in the first stages led via Pisco and San Juan de Marcona to Arequipa. The routing was largely identical for all classes, only on the stage to Arequipa the motorcycles drove a slightly different route. The sixth stage crossed the border to Bolivia, where the participants had a day of rest in La Paz.

After the rest day, the first half of a marathon stage began for all participants. This means that at the end of the seventh stage, the mechanics were not allowed to carry out repairs on the vehicles. The next two stages led via Tupiza to Salta, Argentina, where the special stages were held at an altitude of up to 4800  m . On the eleventh stage, the motorbikes and quads drove to Fiambalá, while the other participants continued to Chilecito. For the motorbike and quad riders, this was also the first part of another marathon stage. The routing of the motorcycles and quads also deviated from that of the other participants in the two following special stages, only on the last stage northwest of Córdoba did all classes have the same route again.
