The place is located about 9 kilometers southeast of Wels , directly north of Sattledt and 3½ kilometers west of Sipbachzell. It is located in the Traun-Enns-Riedelland and extends over 2½ km at an altitude of around 400  m above sea level. A. am Riedeln between Weyerbach (via Weißkirchen bei Haid zur Traun ) in the east and the uppermost brook valley of the Schleissbach (to Schleißheim zur Traun) in the west.

The village has around 40 buildings with around 150 inhabitants. The majority are scattered houses that belong to the municipality of Sipbachzell, with the individual layers Mansteiner, Wasenberg (am Weyerbach) and Zauner (Schleißbachgraben), only the southernmost hamlet (5 houses in Rappersdorf ), separated by a small wooded area (Illingerholz) on the municipality border, is already on the Sattledter area.

Today the place is right next to the West Autobahn  (A1), shortly after the Sattledt junction, turn left in the direction of Allhaming (Linz / Vienna) (km 192): This runs past to the southeast. The scattered settlement itself is only accessible via a municipal road and goods roads.

history

There is evidence of prehistoric settlement in the area (hoard found near Giering ), in Roman times it belongs to the area around Ovilava / Wels, diocese Lauricum , province Noricum . After the invasion of the Huns and during the Migration Period , the population declined. The room is a cultural border with the Slavic early as the 8th century bairisch populated ( castle Leombach ) and is one of Kremsmünster  (est. 777). It is threatened again during the Hungarian invasions in the early 10th century. A milestone is mentioned here in 1299 , which belongs to the important old road Wels – Pyhrn (today's homestead Marsteiner , mile  5 from Wels). Originally located in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria and forming the southern border of the Traungau to the Ulsburggau , the place belonged to the Duchy of Austria since the 12th century . Since 1490 it has been assigned to the Principality of Austria ob der Enns .

The place itself is documented in the 14th century as rapotzdorf , to a personal name Rapoto, Ratbald .

The place belonged in the middle modern period to the parish Sipbachzell in the district Kremsmünster , from 1868 to the new district Wels-Land . The typical squares are as numerous as 200 years ago.

In 1958 the motorway was built (lot Ennsdorf – Sattledt, opening December 3, 1958).

Sightseeing and tourism

At the local farmers, in the Sattledter district, there is a chapel, called the Ortbauernkapelle . The Marienkapelle was originally built in 1842 and originally belonged to the Huemergut. In 1991 it was rebuilt as a typical small chapel in the rural style of neo- baroque classicism . The outside is decorated with scraffito- like painting and two stone pillars.

At Mansteiner and Wasenberg in the north the Voralpen-Radweg crosses from Blindenmarkt to Rafing , which leads from Schleißheim near Wels southeast via Bad Hall to the Kremstalradweg near Achleiten near Kremsmünster.

Individual evidence

  1. a b c d The place is located twice today, in both communities. This goes back to the Franziszäischer cadastre (2nd land survey) around 1830, which has the place name, as is often the case with scattered settlements, at two homesteads. As an exception, both locations have been preserved here (state image as a layer original map online at DORIS, various map themes, original map quality, in particular the cultural atlas )
