Rovinka (from 1927 to 1948 in Slovak "Čela" - 1948–1960 "Štefánikovce"; German Waltersdorf , Hungarian Csölle ) is a municipality in the Bratislavský kraj in the Danube plain , on the main road between Bratislava (15 km away) and Šamorín (10 km) and Komárno (80 km).
The place was first mentioned in 1235 and later developed into two villages - Unterwaltersdorf and Oberwaltersdorf, which were united in 1913. Until shortly after the Second World War there was a majority of German and Hungarian residents in the village. These were expelled on the basis of the Beneš decrees after the Second World War. 2001 lived in the place 1274 inhabitants, of which 88.5% Slovaks and 7.5% Magyars. The renaming in 1948 to the name Štefánikovce goes back to the Czechoslovak politician Milan Rastislav Štefánik , the renaming, which took place in 1960, goes back to a suggestion by the citizens and means something like "straight".
