Ivanka pri Dunaji (German: oaks on the Danube , older also Johannesdorf, Iwancka on the Danube ) is a municipality in Slovakia .

It is located in the Danube lowlands on the Blatina river , on the border with the city of Bratislava (the center is 12 km away).
The place Farná ( German Pfaffendorf , Hungarian Papfa ) has belonged to the municipality since 1932.
history
To the place first mentioned in writing as Iwand in 1209 . The place belonged to the Hungarian County of Pressburg until 1918 . The Slovak politician Milan Rastislav Štefánik died on May 4th 1919 when his Caproni Ca.33 crashed near Ivanka pri Dunaji.
