The South Korean national basketball team for women is the selection of South Korean female basketball players that the Korea Basketball Association represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The greatest successes were winning the silver medal at the Olympic basketball competitions in 1984 and the World Championships in 1967 and 1979 . In 1955, the national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA). In November 2013, the team was ranked eleventh in the world rankings for women as the second best Asian team after China .
