The Vire flows on the north-eastern border of Sainte-Marie-Outre-l'Eau, which is also a partial boundary to the neighboring municipality of Pont-Farcy . In the south-west, Sainte-Marie-Outre-l'Eau is bordered by the Manche department , in the south-east by the commune of Landelles-et-Coupigny and in the east by Pont-Bellanger .
