Santa Cruz is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Nain Feto ( municipality of Dili ) and a district of the state capital Dili .

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Santa Cruz had an area of ​​0.48 km². Now it is 0.74 km². The Suco is located in the north of the administrative office of Nain Feto. In 2004, the Suco was separated from the Cristo Rei administrative office and assigned to Nain Feto. After East Timor's independence, the Sucos Asucai Lorosae and Solo were also affiliated to Santa Cruz .

To the north, beyond Avenida 20 de Maio , lies Suco Gricenfor , south beyond Rua Dom José Ribeiro , Suco Lahane Oriental , east of Suco Bemori and the administrative office of Cristo Rei with its Suco Culu Hun and to the west, beyond Avenida Xavier do Amaral and the Avenida Bispo Medeiros , the Vera Cruz administrative office with its sucos Colmera , Caicoli , Mascarenhas and Lahane Ocidental . The roundabout between Avenida Xavier do Amaral and Avenida Bispo Medeiros , with the monument to Francisco Xavier do Amaral , belongs to the Suco Santa Cruz.

The district of Audian (Tetum for “thorn-free bamboo”) forms the north , south of Av. 15 de Outubro are the districts of Quintal Qik and Quintal Bot . The southernmost part, beyond Av. Mouzinho de Albuquerque , forms the east of the district of Balide . The national stadium of East Timor is located in Audian . Quintal Bot houses the Public Defender Office ( Defensoria Pública ), the Directorate for Land and Property (DNTP) and the Indonesian Cemetery ( Cemitério Indonésio ). In the eastern part of Balide are the Church of Balide , the Colégio de São José , the Seminário Maior de Balide , the São José elementary school ( Escola Primaria Katolica Balide ) and the Escola Portuguesa Ruy Cinatti .

The Santa Cruz Cemetery , where the Santa Cruz Massacre began in 1991 , is across Av. Audian at Suco Bemori.

In the Suco there are the ten Aldeias 12 de Novembro , 25 de Abril , 4 de Setembro , 7 de Dezembro , Audian , Baheda , Donoge , Loceneon , Moris Foun and Mura .

The Suco has 9,702 inhabitants (2015), of which 5,157 are men and 4,545 are women. The population density is 13,028.9 inhabitants / km², the highest value of all sucos in East Timors. There are 1,481 households in the Suco. Almost 68% of the population name Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue. 16% speak Makasae , over 3% Mambai , 2% Fataluku , minorities Naueti , Tetum Terik , Bunak , Bekais , Makalero , Waimaha , Galoli , Habun , Tokodede , Kairui or Baikeno .

In the 2004/2005 elections , António Gonçalves was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections won Manuel Correia .
