Schönheim is a district of the Hohenfels market in the Neumarkt district in Upper Palatinate in Bavaria .

Geographical location

The desert is in the Upper Palatinate Jura of the southern Franconian Jura at approx. 420 m above sea ​​level, approx. 500 m south of the trout stream . To the northwest, the Pfaffenberg rises to 492 m above sea level.

You can reach Schönheim via a local road that branches off from the NM 32 district road in a northerly direction and continues to the Fuchsmühle in the valley of the Forellenbach, where it joins the state road 2234 and the NM 33 district road. history

The wasteland, first mentioned in 1286, was subordinate to the Electoral Palatinate Care Office Hohenfels . In Urbar this office of 1400/10 the desert as listed "Sundheim the disgust"; In 1567 the wasteland is called "Widen Schonheim". In Christoph Vogel's maps from around 1600, the place is recorded as "Widen". Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , around 1800, the wasteland consisted of a quarter courtyard.

In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the Markstetten tax district was formed around 1810 and transferred to the Parsberg district court (later Parsberg district ) in 1814 . This included the three villages of Markstetten, Affenricht and Haasla , the hamlet of Kleinmittersdorf and the desert areas of Fuchsmühle, Ammelacker , Ammelhof , Höfla , Friesmühle , Baumühle , Blechmühle , Lauf , Schönheim and Unterwahrberg .

With the second Bavarian Gemeindeedikt of 1818 originated Rural Municipality Markstetten, which in turn belonged Schönheim. This community was incorporated into Hohenfels on May 1, 1978. Since then, Schönheim has been an officially named district of Hohenfels.
