Qualifying tournament for the State League A 1994/95
The qualifying tournament for the State League A took place from April 22nd to 24th in Graz . The participants were ESV Austria Graz (winner of the State League B South), SK Hohenems (winner of the State League B West) and, with SC Fischer Wien and SK VÖEST Linz, the first two of the State League B East.
While Fischer Wien won all competitions and thus rose confidently, the decision about the second promotion place was very close. VÖEST Linz and Austria Graz were tied not only according to board points, but also according to all other criteria (team points, direct comparison, Sonneborn-Berger evaluation ), so that the decision about second place had to be made by drawing lots and here VÖEST Linz was lucky on his side.
