The Schwarzensee is a mountain lake on the Tauplitzalm in the Dead Mountains in Styria , Austria . The lake is at an altitude of 1549 m above sea level. A. embedded in a hollow south of the Grubstein and north of the Rosskogel. With a water surface of 5.3 hectares, it is the third largest lake on the Tauplitzalm plateau . The lake has a length of about 410 meters in a southwest-northeast direction with a maximum width of about 180 meters. The Schwarzensee is surrounded by grazed slopes or slopes with crooked wood. The northern shores are steep and heaps of rubble reach into the lake. The east to west banks are flatter, stony to pebbly and in places also sandy.
Grow in the shallow shores stoneworts stocks; in between dense locally, otherwise loose stocks of alpine pondweed , potamogeton berchtoldii , potamogeton praelongus and ranunculus trichophyllus .
