Zelenivka (Ukrainian Зеленівка ; Russian Зеленовка / Zelenovka ) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine with 5800 inhabitants. It is located 6.9 km northeast of Kherson , the capital of Kherson Oblast .
geography
Zelenivka is located about 10 km from the beginning of the delta of the Dnieper (Ukrainian Dnipro ). It is 80 km to the Black Sea . The Crimea begins almost 110 km southeast .
As an urban-type settlement, Zelenivka is subordinated to the Dnipro Raion , which is a Stadtrajon of Kherson. The settlement council also includes the villages Bohdaniwka (Богданівка) and Petrivka (Петрівка) and the settlement Sonjachne (Сонячне).
history
In 1782 the village was called "Baljohiwka" for the first time, in 1783 it then appears as "Selenowka". In 1789 the village was called "Roschnowka", in 1967 it was again called "Selenowka" (or, in Ukrainian, "Seleniwka").
