Sywaske ( Ukrainian Сиваське ; Russian Сивашское Siwaschskoje ) is an urban-type settlement in the east of the Ukrainian Oblast of Kherson with around 4400 inhabitants (2014).
Sywaske was founded in 1816 as Karakut ( Каракут ), was later named Рождественське Roshdestwenske / Різдвянка Risdvyanka until 1935 and received the status of an urban-type settlement in 1960. Sywaske is the only village of the same name, 246.995 km² large settlement council in Novotrojitske district . From 1923 to 1962 the place was with interruptions the capital of the Sywaske Rajons .
Sywaske is located 18 km east of the Novotrojitske district center and 180 km southeast of the oblast capital Kherson .
