Senna Guemmour (* 28. December 1979 in Frankfurt am Main as Senna Guemmour ) is a German pop singer and presenter . She was a member of the girl group Monrose and also appears as "Sista Senna".
Family and personal life
Gammour's parents moved to Germany from Morocco , their mother's homeland. Gammour grew up with an older brother and two younger sisters in Frankfurt's northwest city . Her Algerian father died of lung cancer when she was twelve years old. Musically she was influenced by her brother, who was active as a hip-hop singer in the band Gammour. Before participating in the talent show Popstars , she performed repeatedly with the band. She stood on stage for the first time at the age of 16. At first she made her living mainly as a waitress. After completing secondary school , she began training as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk .
Career
Start of career with Monrose
In 2003 Gammour first applied to Popstars - Das Duell , but failed in the recall. Three years later she applied again, this time to Popstars - New Angels Needs the Land , and she managed to secure a place in the band Monrose with Mandy Capristo and Bahar Kızıl . Until the split in 2011, Monrose was a successful girl group with seven top ten hits and two number 1 placements .
Solo projects
In 2007 Gammour sang the chorus of Kool Savas ' tune with Moe Mitchell . The title reached number 68 in the singles charts in Germany. She is also featured on the Dieter Falk album Volkslieder with the song No Beautiful Land . In September 2008, she hosted along with Oli.P by Pro7 broadcast program Singing Bee . She also appeared as "Sista Senna" on VIVA Live! on, where she stood by young callers as a problem solver. In May 2009 Gammour sat next to dancer and choreographer Detlef D! Soost in the jury of the Pro7 show Mascerade - Germany is bending , the German counterpart of the Japanese talent show Masquerade . In 2009, she danced the well-known “twist scene” from Pulp Fiction together with Gotthilf Fischer in the show Yes We Can Dance produced by Sat.1 . At the end of the broadcast, Gammour and Fischer received the most calls from viewers and qualified for the dance show's finale.
In 2010 Gammour was seen at the Promi Kocharena on VOX . From March to September 2011 she hosted the quiz show Iss or quizz on ZDFneo together with Lutz van der Horst . In 2012, Gammour was a jury member for the 10th season of Popstars . In 2013 she took part in Promi Shopping Queen and the RTL show Wild Girls - Through Africa on high heels . In 2014, Gammour appeared in the TV formats Celebrities are looking for a home and The Celebrity Lesson .
She also publishes videos that are mostly about women and relationships on internet platforms such as Facebook and YouTube . In 2016 she presented her first live program Lovesickness is an Asshole . The tour kicked off on September 17, 2016 at the Quatsch Comedy Club in Berlin. On February 1, 2019, Gammour published her first book with the relationship guide Lovesickness is an Asshole . With the book, Gammour was able to place itself in the Spiegel bestseller list at number 1 in the paperback non-fiction book. After a 10-year musical break, the single Fuckboy was released on February 14, 2020 .
In 2020, Gammour recommended a conspiracy theoretic video by presenter Ken Jebsen , in which he claimed that Bill Gates had bought governments to enforce vaccination programs worldwide through the COVID-19 pandemic .
