Sprague Grayden (born July 21, 1980 in Manchester , Massachusetts ) is an American film and theater actress who has been on a stage since she was five. Her pseudonym Sprague Grayden is made up of Sprague, her mother's maiden name , and her actual last name.

life and work

Sprague Grayden was born in 1980 in Manchester, Massachusetts, the daughter of two teachers. At the age of five she was discovered by a talent scout at a party and later booked for advertising shoots. As a child, she also took part in plays such as Strong Man's Weak Child by Israel Horovitz . She celebrated her screen debut in 1989 in a small role of the movie Dad alongside Kevin Spacey and Ethan Hawke . Since her parents attached great importance to a solid education, she attended Barnard College in New York City after graduating from Manchester High School , from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) . During her student days, she became a member of an off-Broadway venue in New York, where she was able to take part in various stage plays as an actress.

However, she only started her actual career as an actress after completing her studies. Although she applied for and auditioned for theater roles, she earned a small role in the horror film Biohazardous in 2001 , followed by a guest appearance on the US television series Law & Order . She achieved a small success as an actress in 2001 when she played Karen Kawalski in the series Der Fall John Doe! book. This recurring film role gave her appearances in television series such as Crossing Jordan , The Heavenly Joan and Six Feet Under . As Olivia Taylor, "First Daughter" of US President Allison Taylor, Sprague Grayden starred in some episodes of the seventh season of the hugely successful television series 24 .
