Terra Nova (booklet series)
Terra Nova (Subtitle: Science Fiction - The new sci-fi series from the Perry Rhodan editorial board) was a German science fiction - pulp novel series from the Moewig-Verlag . It was the successor to the Terra Utopian Novels series , which appeared in 555 editions from 1957 to 1968. Terra Nova was published weekly from May 17, 1968 to August 20, 1971, when it was replaced by the Terra Astra series . The series reached 190 editions.
The books initially cost 0.80 DM (up to number 42), then 0.90 DM (up to number 120) and finally the price was increased to 1.00 DM.
Individual novels and novel cycles by well-known German and international authors were published in the series. These were first German publications or new editions of titles previously published elsewhere. The Tschai trilogy by Jack Vance (actually a tetralogy - see en: Planet of Adventure ) and some Darkover novels by Marion Zimmer Bradley became famous .
The cover pictures of the booklets were mostly designed by Karl Stephan , who already worked for the Terra and Terra Extra series, but often also by Johnny Bruck .
