Tỉnh Thái Bình is one of the smaller provinces of Vietnam . It is located in the Red River Delta . The capital is Thái Bình , approx. 110 km southeast of Hanoi and 70 km southwest of Hải Phòng . The average temperature is 23.5 ° C. It is bordered by the five provinces Hải Dương , Hưng Yên , Hải Phong , Hà Nam and Nam Định . The province borders the Gulf of Tonkin to the east .
The province is traversed by four larger rivers: northeast of the 35 km long Sông Hóa, northwest of the Sông Luộc, 53 km long, south of a 67 km long lower reaches of the Red River (Sông Hồng) and the Sông Trà Lý, a 65 km long Sidewalk of the Sông Hồng.
Demographics
Different ethnic groups live in the province, the majority of which are Việt / Kinh . Smaller groups of the Hoa , Mường and Tày also live there .
