The 2004/05 Bundesliga was the 39th season for men and the 30th season for women in the top German table tennis division. The champions were Müller Würzburger Hofbräu and TV Busenbach .

Men

Clubs of the table tennis Bundesliga in the 2004/2005 season

Ten teams took part in the men's competition, TSV Graefelfing was new, replacing the relegated TTC Karlsruhe / DJK Offenburg (there were only nine teams in the previous season). The best four teams after the end of the regular season took part in the play-off rounds to determine the German champions. In two finals, Müller Würzburger Hofbräu prevailed against TTC Frickenhausen and thus became German champions for the first time. The club in last place was supposed to be relegated, but SV Plüderhausen received no license for the coming season and therefore relegated together with TSV Graefelfing. The two were replaced by Werder Bremen , TSV Schwalbe Tündern and TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell .

Women

A total of 10 teams took part in the women's race, new were the TTC HS Schwarza and the TTC Spich , which replaced the relegated Homberger TS and DJK TuS Holsterhausen . For the last time, the top four teams took part in the play-off rounds after the end of the regular season to determine the German champions. In two finals, TV Busenbach prevailed against FSV Kroppach and thus became German champions for the first time. The two last-placed clubs were supposed to be relegated, but the sixth, eighth and ninth-placed clubs TSV Betzingen , SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen and TTC HS Schwarza withdrew, so that TTC Spich, renamed TTC Troisdorf, moved into the first division could remain. The relegated teams were replaced by the Homberger TS, TTK Anröchte and DJK TuS Holsterhausen.
