history

The franchise of Beaulieu d'Acton Vale from the Quebec City Quebec Semi-Pro Hockey League was moved to Saint-Hyacinthe in 2001 and renamed Cousin de Saint-Hyacinthe. The team stayed in the Québec Semi-Pro Hockey League, which changed its name to Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey in 2004 due to the increasing professionalism of its participants. Until the financially-related dissolution of the team following the 2008/09 season, the team changed names several times and ran as Cristal, Top Design and Chiefs de Saint-Hyacinthe. The Canadians' greatest success was first place after the regular season in the 2007/08 season.
