Town and Country is a small town (with the status " City ") in St. Louis County in the US -amerikanischen State Missouri . In 2010 Town and Country had 10,815 residents.

Town and Country is part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area and one of the wealthiest suburbs of the city of St. Louis .

geography

Town and Country is located at 38 ° 37 '  N , 90 ° 28'  W and extends over 30.8 km². The city is about three kilometers southeast of the Missouri River ; the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois , is about 30 km to the east. Town and Country is mainly located in the Missouri River Township , but also extends into the Maryland Heights and, to a small extent, into the Lafayette Township .

Town and Country bordering on it are Creve Coeur in the northeast, Frontenac in the east, Des Peres in the southeast, Manchester in the southwest and Chesterfield in the west. The center of the city of St. Louis is 17 miles east.

Interstates 64 and 270 intersect in the northeast of the urban area . US Highways 40 and 61 run on the same route as Interstate 64 in a west-east direction. Missouri State Route 141 runs through the west of the urban area in a north-south direction . The Missouri State Route 100 forms a small part of the southern city limits. All other roads are inner-city connecting roads.

The Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located 25 km north-northeast of Town and Country.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the Town and Country had 10,815 people in 3,591 households. The population density was 351.1 inhabitants per square kilometer. Statistically, there were 2.66 people in each of the 3591 households.

The racial the population was composed of 87.8 percent white, 2.6 percent African American, 0.1 percent Native American, 7.5 percent Asian and 0.5 percent from other ethnic groups; 1.6 percent were descended from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.7 percent of the population.

21.9 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 55.0 percent were between 18 and 64 and 23.1 percent were 65 years or older. 53.5 percent of the population was female.

The average annual income for a household was 137,400  USD . The per capita income was $ 78,808. 4.5 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
