Tutong is a district ( Daerah ) of the Sultanate of Brunei . It has an area of 1,303 km² and has 49,438 inhabitants (as of 2016), making it the third largest district in Brunei. The capital of Tutong is the city of the same name, Tutong .
Geographical location
Tutong is located in the center of Brunei and borders Malaysia to the east and southeast . The district capital Tutong is about 37 km from the capital Bandar Seri Begawan .
The Tasek Merimbun , the largest lake in Brunei, is located in this district.

The most important sights of the district include Lake Tasek Merimbun , Seri Kenangan Beach (often also Tutong Beach ) on the South China Sea , Sungai Basong Recreational Park and Tamu Tutong Kampung Serambagun , a market near the city of Tutong.
