The US Open 2015 (officially: US Open 9-Ball Championship 2015 ) was the 40th edition of the US Open in the 9-ball pool discipline . They took place October 25-30 , 2015 at the Marriott Chesapeake in Chesapeake , Virginia , USA .
The Taiwanese Cheng Yu-hsuan won the final 13: 6 against the Englishman Karl Boyes and won the US Open as the third Asian after Efren Reyes (1994) and Alex Pagulayan (2005).
Defending champion Shane van Boening took 25th place. The best German was Ralf Souquet , who was eliminated with 6:11 against the Chinese Liu Haitao and came in fourth. Albin Ouschan was seventeenth as the best Austrian.

The tournament was played in a double knockout system . This means that a player is only eliminated from the tournament after the second defeat. In the preliminary round the goal was 11 games, in the final 13 games. It was played with a winner break.
