In 1608 the town of Rosenburg bought the place from Conrad Zirn von Starbitz for 1560 guilders.

After the First Silesian War in 1742, Wachowitz fell with most of Silesia to Prussia . The place was mentioned in 1783 in the book Entries describing Silesia as Wachowi (t) z , belonged to the Treasury of Rosenberg and was in the Rosenberg district of the Principality of Opole . At that time he had 64 inhabitants, a Vorwerk , a farmer, and seven gardeners .

After the reorganization of the province of Silesia , the rural community Wachowitz belonged to the district of Rosenberg OS in the administrative district of Opole from 1816 . In 1845 there was a farm, a distillery, a brewery and 15 houses in the village. In the same year 120 people lived in Wachowitz, all of them Catholic. In 1855 the village numbered 125 people. In 1865 Wachowitz had a farmer, six gardeners and three cottagers . In 1874 the district of Wachowitz was founded, which consisted of the rural communities Wachowitz and Wyssoka and the manor districts of Wyssoka and Wyssoka, combing forest. In 1885 Wachowitz had 89 inhabitants.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 58 voters locally voted for Upper Silesia to remain with Germany and 77 for membership of Poland. Wachowitz stayed with the German Empire after the division of Upper Silesia . In 1925 the place had 125, in 1933 again 283 inhabitants. On May 16, 1936, the place was renamed Stoberquell in the wake of a wave of renaming during the Nazi era . On April 1, 1939, Stoberquell was incorporated into the rural community of Mühlendorf OS . Until 1945 the place was in the district of Rosenberg OS

In 1945 the previously German town came under Polish administration and was then attached to the Silesian Voivodeship and renamed the Polish Wachowice . In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship and in 1975 to the Czestochowa Voivodeship. In 1999 the place came to the re-established Powiat Oleski and again to the Opole Voivodeship.
