Emblem of Saudi Arabia.svg

The coat of arms of Saudi Arabia has been in use since 1950.

description

The coat of arms shows a palm tree over two crossed scimitarians (oriental sabers). In the heraldic sense, it is a symbol as it does not have a coat of arms .

symbolism

Palm and saber have been the emblems of Saudi Arabia since around 1930 .

The date palm symbolizes agriculture and the oases in the desert, while the two scimitar sabers express the determination to defend Islam .

The two number of the Scimitare also represents the united regions of Hejaz and Najd , the two heartlands of the Kingdom of the Saudites , which until 1932 called itself " Kingdom of Hejaz and Najd ".

The green color also reminds us that the state emerged from the union of the Hejaz and the Nedj.
