Brunei coat of arms
The Brunei coat of arms has been in use since 1959.
description
The Brunei national coat of arms is also depicted on the Brunei flag .
The coat of arms has five main components:
- the flag that forms the end of a mast at the top,
- the royal umbrella underneath,
- the wings under the umbrella,
- the hand to the right and left of it and
- a crescent.
The motto of Brunei is written in Arabic on the crescent moon :
- الدائمون المحسنون بالهدى ad-dāʾimūn al-muḥsinūn bi'l-hudā , Malay " Selalu memberi pelayanan dengan bimbingan Tuhan " , German eternal service under the guidance (of God) .
Below the crescent is a scroll with the name of the nation in Arabic script:
- بروني دارالسلام" Brunei Darussalam " or Brunei, area of peace (see also Dār al-Islām ).
symbolism
The flag and the umbrella are symbols of sovereignty and the royal family .
The wings symbolize calm, justice and peace.
Below is the symbol of Islam , the crescent moon.
The hands symbolize the government's duty to protect the people.
The mast stands for a just and stable government.
history
The coat of arms was originally adopted in 1932 , but has only been in use in its current form since August 29, 1959 .
